About EAS

Accounting experience meets Excel systems thinking.

Excel Automation Studio was founded by Luis Alexander to help growing businesses clean up the work that lives between accounting systems, spreadsheets, monthly close, and management reporting.

The founder story

Built from the accounting work businesses actually run every month.

EAS grew out of a simple observation: many important accounting and operating processes do not live cleanly inside one system. They live in exports, schedules, spreadsheets, reconciliations, workpapers, and reports that only one or two people fully understand.

Luis has worked across consulting, SaaS, healthcare, insurance, nonprofit, real estate, and PE-backed environments, building close workflows, reconciliations, KPI models, and Excel-native reporting infrastructure.

The goal of EAS is not to replace every system. The goal is to make the current work cleaner, more structured, more repeatable, and easier to hand off.

What shapes the work

Three things EAS brings together.

Accounting foundation

Monthly close, reconciliations, financial statement support, amortization schedules, management reporting, KPI packages, and CPA handoff.

Excel automation

Power Query, Power Pivot, dynamic arrays, VBA, cube formulas, DAX, structured input tables, refreshable workflows, and QA checks.

Business process thinking

A focus on owners, source systems, recurring events, vocabulary, handoff, controls, and the decisions the reports are supposed to support.

Selected experience

From public company schedules to PE-backed reporting.

EAS is shaped by hands-on accounting work, not theory alone.

  • Designed a reusable Excel-native prepaid software subledger with amortization, reconciliation, JE export, dashboard workflow, validation logic, and SOP-ready handoff.
  • Consolidated 20+ loan workbooks into a normalized Power Query model for a 44-bank / 90+ property real estate cleanup.
  • Created a contractor payout schedule using Power Query, reducing time to close by 60%.
  • Streamlined cash application work, saving roughly three hours per day.
  • Built KPI and board reporting support in PE-backed healthcare and insurance environments.
  • Supported public-company reporting, fixed assets, inventory, content assets, and 10-Q / 10-K schedules.
How EAS thinks

Clean books. Systems that flow. Work on what matters.

The best accounting system is not just technically correct. It is understandable, repeatable, refreshable, and useful to the people making decisions. EAS builds toward that standard.

How I work with clients

Practical, clear, and built for handoff.

EAS is designed for growing businesses that need help now, not a giant transformation project before anything improves.

Low-risk starting points

Start with a short discovery call, a Phase 0 audit, or a Phase 1 roadmap before committing to a larger module build or support package.

No black boxes

Modules are designed with clear inputs, outputs, exception checks, documentation, and handoff in mind so the business is not dependent on one person.

Background note: Before and alongside accounting, Luis spent years training as an actor. That experience still shapes the work: listen carefully, understand the real situation, communicate clearly, and make the handoff usable.

Need cleaner books, better reporting, or a system your team can actually run?

Start with a short discovery call. We’ll identify the problem, choose the right next step, and avoid building anything that does not earn its place.
